I want to have M-mode in W212 E500 4matic 2010 model 212.090 SA801 – YOM 10/1, at the moment my variant code is Y2KX, does anyone help me to know the right code for M-mode ?

That’s interesting. I’ve got nearly the same car (W212 from 2009) and I’m also looking for the manual mode. My variant code is Y2KY.

Someone recommended to try three codings before and after the current one but I’m a bit hesitant with this.

The coding contains several properties of the car including 4Matic or RWD. In contrast to the RWD ones, the 4Matic have a torque limitation to protect the gearbox etc. when starting with full throttle. Therefore, a genuine 4Matic variant code would be preferable.

I think in the 7G coding collection there was no W212 E500 with M-mode. The next “match” could be an S500 4Matic (221.086). From the thread mentioned its variant code is YE25. Not sure if this one has M-mode, though.

I want to confirm that in 212.090 with MY2010 SA801 M-mode work very well

with Y2KZ 🙂 Imidietly after coding there was error showed in KI display “presafe function is unavaiable” but after ignition off/on everything works!

For 212.090 MY2009 SA800 correct coding is Y2AR

SUCCESS! Now with working M-mode! Y2KZ also works for me. Same error as above after first start which went away with the 2nd start.

Test drive was successful. One drawback, however: The gear switching times in M are not better than in C or S. Some years ago, I read from an S211 (E500 M273 with 7g) which was given M-mode and the owner claimed significantly faster gear switching. He did it the official way: Changing VeDoc and online SCN coding. Maybe there’s more to it than just the VGS variant coding.

MB Star Diagnosis and Vediamo program Smart 450 SAM unit

I’ve just got Vediamo V4 up and running for a Smart 450 Cabrio with a dead SAM unit, to virginize (Or at least reset) a 2nd hand SAM unit and program it in.
However, vediamo no make virgin this unit for smart
And i was told to make virgin by eeprom dump and make initial startup with Xentry/DAS, and also put the Sam and start the car ..but to change the vin only EPROM and km …
I have access to a eeprom reader so can do that with a SAM but I’m struggling to find a virgin SAM backup. (have found the one for the MEG at the back but not one for the SAM)

But i found it would not help because by coding with MB Star diagnosis DAS i have to enter the SCN Coding Chucksum. Only official smart service can get this number. A smart owner said it worked only by coding the meg and dssh to the 2nd used sam unit. So yes, only a open DAS and the right vin.

Password may be required in official dealer for matching a new key to a control sam used

So i use the non password fix for DAS to get it, I’m sure the SAM unit will take any 3 button key you throw at it (unless it was a 1 button early MCC)

Not for coding a new set of blank keys into SAM, just go into
SAM Unit –> Adaptations –> Bottom of the list should be Special Function: Reprogram keys if no keys available

It does require a password unless you have the No Password fix, I did this the other day on DAS 04.2014 with 2 new keys (No originals)

The fix bypasses the password requirement (Just press F2 twice)

Vediamo V5.00.05 Erase Mercedes Benz W204 EIS History KM

Here is my experience of clearing W204 EIS history mileage using AVDI or Vediamo V5.00.05 mercedes software.

 

At the beginning, i made some tests with 204 EIS, i renew it and now actual km stand is 0 km; but with tester, AVDI or Vediamo result is like this :
20:55:29 Service EIS_204: DT_Km_Info_Aktueller_Km_Stand. Result: 0 km
20:55:31 Service EIS_204: DT_Km_Info_Letzter_Km_Stand. Result: 77050 km
20:55:38 Service EIS_204: DT_Km_Info_Vorletzter_Km_Stand. Result: 76538 km

 

So i wanna erase the 2 results.

 

Tried to learn dash to EIS, but failed!
dash and sam are from scrap yard from one car, and EIS is from another car.
I try to adapt used dash to EIS with FVDI but failed to syncrhonize…
in this moment vin in eis is yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Started a topic in the forum, and got “The easiest way to adapt an used Dash is to make the KM reading 0 in the dash and then adapt it in the car either with DAS or Vediamo or AVDI.”

 

Then i made dash 1000 km,

then first value (last mileage value) has changed in EIS,

then i made 2500 km in dash,

and second value has changed to 0 km
now i have current value 2496 km
Last mileage value 992 km
and Second last value 0 km
experiment done successfully!

Change W222 speed meter and temperature from US to EU

I have a Mercedes-Benz w222 manufactured in the USA. I want to convert the radio and speed meter and temperature from F to C.
It means change speed meter from mph to Km/h , and command (Head Unit) from US to ECE , it will via xentry?

I am new at this field. Any one know how to change it be xentry or vediamo ?
I have MB SD Connect C5 and  Dell D630 Star Diagnostic Tool With Vediamo V5.00.05.

Solution by experienced MB technician: 

ECU version is required so can get the steps. They vary from car to another.

According to your chassis Number, this is the ECU details:

 

Diagversion: IC222_E007_2_Muster

Steps Via Vediamo
1- go to CBF FILE (IC222)
2- Select ECU Variant (IC222_E007_2_Muster)
3- Tab Coding then Variant Coding
4 Coding window will open up

For the temperature C Scroll down o Anzeigeeinheit Temperatur (Unit_Temp) and Choose C.

All other Functions are in the same window

 

Steps Via Xentry
After reading the car go to the ECU Called IC- Instrument Cluster (A1)
Then choose Author data then click on alle_Codierungen. on the right side choose whatever coding you want to change. It should do if the function is available.

How to enter DAS 2012.11V Offline programming

Here are the main setup guide of SD connect c4 DAS 2012.11 on offline programming for whose who are not familiar this feature.
Select Control unit adaptions in DAS 2012.11

The select Control module programming (Do not select Read coding option i.e in the picture below)

Then Offline (diagnostic unit not network)

Only if DAS can access here, it can be verified the car and system can be programmed offline.
If the model or system cannot be supported by the offline function, the program maybe pop up message like “coding is been read please wait”. If so, the model or system should be scn coded online, please go for latest DAS v2016.09.
Tips for SAM offline programming:
1 CANNOT update SAM.
The SAM in DAS system maybe the newest so that can not perform offline programming.
2 CANNOT change codes
Only when use the engineering software (Vediamo), users can change codes of SAM and gateway.

DAS development transfer data from old ETC unit to new

A Mercedes owner simply made the procedure of transfer data from the old unit to the new unit, using MB Star diagnosis DAS development diagnostic software.
Device: MB STAR C3 multiplexer
Software: Xentry/DAS 2013.07
Model: Mercedes-Benz 221.156
The extra thing have to do is:
Look at the old control unit version as shown in the picture:

Then after installing new unit and transfer all data to it, next, go to:
Development Data ==> Control unit adaptation ==> Variant coding ==> F3
Then we chose from the list the same number we got in image below

This must work as reported from many of my friends but i always do the online procedure.

Vediamo V5 or V4.2 for MB Star SD Connect C4?

Here are some real user discussion on Vediamo v5.00.05 & v4.02, about Vediamo significance (differences from Xentry) and that whether Vediamo can be run ok with SD connect compact 4 and Xentry DAS.
About reasons for using Vediamo:
– It is necessary to buy Vediamo? Any difference from XENTRY?
-> Vediamo can do anything that Mercedes Xentry can do, but is more complicated because it pulls from the source which is all German.
It can program pretty much anything on a car.
You need a STAR Diagnostic tool to use Vediamo, doesn’t seem like you know much about it so I figured I’d add that.
-> I use/have vediamo and the required hardware. it’s similar in purpose to Xentry but can do far more detailed variant coding, without the need to have an online connection to Daimler AG servers for authorization. In Xentry, variant coding is restricted, and even then once authorization is granted, the coding options are limited in comparison to Vediamo.
Spend some time looking around on the internet for a download link for it, you’ll also need to have it activated with your hardware ID, etc.
About compatible tools:
– Can Vediamo V5 work with SD connect C4 plus new Xentry (2016)?
-> I have Vediamo 05.00.05 installed along with Xentry 2016/03, but no manual for it, my MB SD C4 multiplexer connects with Vediamo just fine.
About laptop operating system:
– Should be Vediamo V5 installed at a empty XP System or should it be installed into a system where Xentry with drivers is already installed?
-> vediamo can be installed in any Windows XP pc, as long as it has space no matter there is xentry or not
– Got two error messages pops up when downloaded this program running on the Win 7 Pro the other Win 7 Home.
